From past elections we know the following types of candidates can be uniquely competitive in their district:
- mayors, selectboard members, or other local elected officials;
- activists on high-visibility local issues such as education or environment;
- veterans or first responders/family members;
- retired educators or coaches;
- well-known business owners;
- doctors and nurses.
