In early July, Grafton County Dems lost a dear friend and leader, Martha Richards. Martha knew her time was limited, and to no one’s surprise, she did not leave us without first planning a farewell party that was up to her standards. In full fashion, those of us who could attend, celebrated her life as only Martha would have wanted.
For those who knew Martha Richards, she was unstoppable and indefatigable: in her opposition to Northern Pass; as a founding member of the Bio-Mass plant; as a founding member of Plymouth Area Dems; as President of Keep the Heat On; in her involvement in numerous other civic engagements in and around Grafton County, (Commissioner for 4 terms, board member of the Grafton County Senior Citizens Council) and the state.
Martha had a generous heart, a special tenacity for her passions and a zest for all things. She set an example of courage and persistence for all to follow.
Martha passed away early July. We will miss her.
