Vote on March 10 so you can test out the new New Hampshire voting laws and see if you have the right papers to vote! Now you require proof of U.S. citizenship when registering to vote and photo identification when casting a ballot. ALERT! No photo ID, no ballot.
Find your voter information. Are you in the system? Be prepared.
You should be able to find a sample ballot on your town website to know who is running for mayor, for the school board, library board, select board and city council in your town. If not, call or email your town clerk. To find their contact information, click on the SOS voter information link .
Check your town’s candidate list. Do you know what skills these candidates need for the positions they wish to fill? Do you know what experience and qualifications these candidates bring? And most important — do these candidates reflect your values?

Proof of Voter Registration Qualifications
To register to vote in New Hampshire, an individual must be a United States citizen, at least 18 years old by the date of the election, and have their primary residence (domicile) in the state.
Residents can register at their local clerk’s office, at a local supervisors of the checklist meeting, at the polls on election day, or, if they qualify to use the absentee process, by absentee. Residents should check with their clerk’s office for local registration deadlines.
If an applicant does not provide acceptable documentary proof of identity, age, United States citizenship, and/or domicile, they are not eligible to register to vote
